An excerpt from Biggi's comprehensive review of the Irish rides following her visit in September 2001
The next day I drove north for about 12 miles to our Beaches, Dunes and Trails unguided ride. The stable area was a bustling place, very efficiently run as many guests were coming and going. Unfortunately I did not have time to do the unguided riding. Instead, an experienced guide took me on a four-hour ride on a strong 17.2 hh Irish Hunter, giving me a taste of what our clients experience when they are doing this ride on their own with the help of maps and tidal charts. Off we went into a strong Irish breeze, galloping along the beaches of a small island which we reached crossing the bay at low tide. Seals were laying lazily in the dunes a safe distance away as we were riding along the shores of the Atlantic, Knocknarea Mountain was visible through the mist and the clouds dominating the skyline.
