MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Equitours is committed to the conservation, preservation and maintenance of habitat, wildlife populations, and open spaces. We decided this year to begin donating a portion of our annual profits to a conservation organization dedicated to those same goals. After much deliberation, for 2008 we selected the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. The consequences of political unrest earlier this year rippled through the country, impacting tourism and employment, which ultimately threatened wildlife populations and habitat. We believe now is precisely the time when Kenya's conservation organizations are most in need of international support. We hope to inspire you -- our clients, guests and fellow riding enthusiasts -- to join us in supporting the Trust's many worthwhile projects; from rescuing orphan elephants, to educating school children about the benefits of preserving local wildlife. Read more about Equitours' endorsement of the DSWT on our website.
TRAVEL BARGAINS: What to do about a riding holiday when the US dollar continues to lose value against almost every major currency on earth? Don't lose hope, there are still some travel bargains in the Equitours repertoire.
UNITED STATES: Rides here are a great deal at the moment, particularly if you are paying with British pounds or Euros.
ARGENTINA: One currency not dropping against the dollar is the Argentine peso, so you won't feel guilty about spending a few extra days enjoying the sights and superb dining in Buenos Aires.
KENYA: Trying desperately to recuperate after the past few months of bad press, the Chyulu Hills Safari is offering an unprecedented $1200 discount in July.
MOROCCO: Although tied to the Euro, these excellent rides are still a bargain, with more hours in the saddle and exotic local color for your dollar.
BULGARIA: Not closely tied to the Euro... yet. More beautiful horses and scenery than you can get for around $1300 anywhere else in Europe.
SOUTH AFRICA: The Rand is another currency holding steady against the dollar. The Zululand Coast's Adventure Safari package is $1500 less than the upscale True Safari; but with the same horses, trails, and wildlife experience -- just less luxurious camps.

As always, your first line of defense is remembering that Equitours guarantees the ride price on the day you pay the deposit. We may have to increase the price of the ride later to account for exchange rates, but the price will not change for any booking already guaranteed with a deposit. Also, Equitours will not surprise you with a "currency surcharge." Never has, never will.
