Horseback riding traditions in Great Britain are still very strong today. We have excellent riding tours in Scotland and Wales where there is lovely, unspoiled countryside to explore.
Scotland - The Highland Trail winds through wild mountains which are steeped in history. This part of Scotland has escaped the development of more southern areas and has a picturesque, rural landscape traversing forests and farmland with old monasteries and castles from a bygone era. There are a number of places for brisk canters on sure-footed, willing horses. The Glenlivet distillery is on the itinerary and you will have the chance to sip their scotch during your visit.
Wales - The Welsh Mountain Trail traverses the mountainous, rural country near the border with England. You will see old churches, ancient fortresses and picturesque villages and ride through forests and farmland with many opportunities for fast canters with excellent horses on good terrain. Dinners and overnights are in quaint country inns or bed and breakfasts on this point to point ride.
