You will be based on the outskirts of Vilankulos at Archipelago Lodge. The lodge is located on the beach and consists of eighteen chalets with stunning views of the ocean. Each chalet has a large double bedroom with en suite shower. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and additional bedrooms with a separate shower.
The restaurant serves delicious food and the focal point is the spectacular swimming pool, offering a breathtaking view of the islands and the palm fringed beach below. As the sun goes down you can enjoy walks along the beach and cocktails at the bar.

| Itinerary |
| Day 1: | You will be transferred from Vilanculos airport to Archipelago Resort in time for lunch. Settle in and have a brief introduction to Vilanculos. You will enjoy an introductory ride that afternoon along the beach giving you a chance to become familiar with the horses and tack. Early evening drinks will be served at the lodge followed by a fresh seafood dinner. |
| Day 2: | Meet at the stables, mount up and set off on an exhilarating ride along deserted beaches and over high cliffs with panoramic scenes of the Bazaruto Archipelago. A picnic lunch will be served at a beach side restaurant. After a long day in the saddle, a well deserved dinner will await you at the lodge. |
| Day 3: | Take this opportunity to relax and explore the area. You can visit the Vilankulo market, relax at the resort or enjoy activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, dhow sailing, parasailing, kayaking, and fishing. Lunch and dinner will be provided in the resort. |
| Day 4: | This day’s ride takes you through coconut plantations and along the beach to Enrique’s Fishing Village. Enrique, the local chief entertains in tru Mozambican fashion-setting a table with traditional foods. After lunch, continue your ride through the rural village and head onto the Fingerprint of God; a magnificent view point overlooking the archipelago. Today’s ride is an experience in traditional African culture. Visit the Coconut Palms, Enrique’s traditional village and go for a long swim in the ocean with the horses. Make your way home along the coastline with spectacular views from the cliff tops and white beaches. |
| Day 5: | The island of Benguerra is complete with azure waters, sandy beaches, palm trees and pristine coral reefs. The organizers have a herd of horses based on Benguerra Island where you will go for a ride. The island consists of huge sand dunes, freshwater lakes, mangrove swamps and sandy beaches which make for an incredible ride. Return to Vilanculos by boat; enjoy drinks around the bar and dinner at a lovely restaurant where they serve famous Mozambican fare. |
| Day 6: | This is a free day for market tours or relaxing by the pool. Go see Sandy’s craft shop, parasail, kayak, or fish in the aquamarine waters. Lunch and dinner are both provided by the resort. |
| Day 7: | Saddle up and ride toward the rivers on South Beach. Pass through rural areas and back along coconut plantations toward the river and a wide expanse of beach perfect for swimming with the horses and wonderful long canters. Dinner this evening will be served pool side at the Archipelago Beach Resort. |
| Day 8: | This morning’s farewell ride meanders up the coast toward the cliffs and mangroves on South Beach. The views are extraordinary and memorable. Descend to the beach for a final brisk gallop and a swim in the ocean before heading back to the hotel for a light lunch followed by transfer to the airport. |
