Horseback Riding in Australia
BOOMERANG TRAIL

Experience the beautiful and diverse landscape of Australia’s Mid North Coast, of New South Wales, astride fit and well trained horses. The Boomerang Trail is a stationary ride, returning each evening to the 60 acre farm property of ‘Kerewong’ where your hosts will make you feel right at home.

You will follow quiet narrow horse trails, 4WD tracks, fire trails and forest roads through the Comboyne State Forest experiencing pockets of rainforests, creek crossings, a historic timber railway line, Eucalypt forests and steep ridges. Combine this with rolling farmlands, a visit to a local winery and a ride along the beach where the Pacific Ocean is sprawled for mile after mile of desertion, and you have an impressive taste of Australia.

While at the farm property and out riding you will have the opportunity to see wildlife and flora unique to Australia. Wallabies, goannas, king parrots, cockatoos, and galahs are all around. The property used to be an Australian Native Nursery so you are spoiled by banksia trees, kangaroo paw plants, bottlebrush, lilly pilly, macadamia trees, lemon- scented eucalypt, myrtle trees, and magnolia trees, along with the colorful birds that visit them.

Itinerary
Day 1:You will be picked up from Kendall Railway Station or Port Macquarie Airport in the afternoon. You will have a chance to unwind, unpack and freshen up before dinner.
Day 2:Today you will ride through the hilly terrain of the Kerewong State Forest with eucalypt forests and rainforests. There is a creek side picnic ground in the middle of the forest for lunch with the opportunity to swim in a rock pool swimming hole. Arrive back to the homestead in time to enjoy an afternoon drink on the verandah, before dinner is served.
Day 3:This ride will take you to impressive Comboyne Mountain (2,200ft), which is the peak you see from the riding centre. There is a magnificent 360 degree view at the peak of the mountain where you will enjoy a well deserved lunch break, before descending back home. A delicious dinner and good company awaits you at the homestead.
Day 4:A farmland horse ride and Aussie "Morning Tea" at Pear Trees Farm, a guesthouse-farm nestled in a secluded valley surrounded by Eucalypt Forests, will fill your fourth day. On this particular ride there will be ample opportunities to watch wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, black cockatoo's and goanna's.
Day 5:A fantastic beach ride along the Pacific Ocean enjoying a possible close encounter with kangaroos will leave you in awe on this day. The ocean sprawls ahead of you for miles and the power of the horses underneath you is exhilarating. Lunch will be a picnic in the sand dunes or at Lorne Valley Macadamia Farm. You will be transferred to and from the beach by horse trailer.
Day 6:This is a long day ride, starting along a historic timber railway line, and ending at a local winery. You will have the opportunity to taste the local produce while looking over the vineyards. You will enjoy dinner at the local pub tonight. Transfers are by horse trailer where you will be brought back to riding centre to freshen up if time permits or go directly to the pub for dinner if need be.
Day 7:This long ride will allow you to admire the beautiful green rolling and fertile farmland of the Comboyne Plateau. On clear days, wonder at the views to the Pacific Ocean. In the evening, an authentic Aussie Barbecue will serve as your farewell dinner.
Day 8:After breakfast you will be transferred back to Kendall Railway station or Port Macquarie Airport for your departure connection.
